âHow can you sorta have a stalker?â he asks.
Stop looking at his penis. Stop looking at the sad, barely there paper covering his penis.
âWell, I guess technically he was just a stalker, but I still think he was mostly harmless.â
A low rumbly noise comes from Marcusâs throat.
âDid you just growl at me?â
âDid he ever touch you?â he asks, ignoring my question.
âI went out with him one time because he seemed like a nice guy, and we worked at the same place. But one date was all I needed to know I was not interested. He kept talking about how delicious I smelled, and I donât know,â I shrug. âIt just weirded me out.â
He leans closer and runs his nose up the side of my neck, then makes that rumbly noise again. My panties are immediately soaked and my nipples pebble.
âYou do smell delicious.â
I shiver. âUh, thanks.â
âDid that weird you out.â
âThatâs not exactly what I would call it,â I say. Then I turn away from him. âLetâs see if we can find something other than those pitiful paper towels for you to cover yourself with. Iâm sure youâre uncomfortable.â
I dig around in the cabinets and drawers, looking for somethingâanything at this pointâto make me stop thinking about this manâs erection. I mean obviously Iâm attracted to him. That much was clear when I first saw him at Jaxâs. But seeing all of him just makes it worse. Finally, I find some lab coats in an old storage closet.
I fashion him a kilt, of sorts, using two of the coats. Itâs not a perfect solution, but it has covered up his penis. Should the adrenaline still be affecting him to that extent? Clearly, heâs in a lot of pain from the gunshot.
I am a terrible person. I still canât believe I shot him. But also, I could have sworn it was a bear coming at me. Did my eyes just play tricks on me because of how dark it was?
âAre you enjoying your work here?â he asks.
âYes! Itâs really interesting.â I pause, wondering how much detail I can give him. I keep meaning to go to Seleneâs office to ask her about the oddities Iâve noticed. I just havenât had time.
âDo you know what all the labs work on?â I ask.
âNot really. My focus is on security. Why?â
âJust being nosy, I suppose. But itâs just things Iâve noticed under the microscope.â
âWhich is?â he asks.
âIâm assuming since youâre on security, youâve been vetted and had to sign the same NDA that I did?â
âObviously.â
âIâm working primarily with strands of DNA, but theyâre not normal. Itâs basic human DNA but somehow merged with animal. Wolves, if Iâm not mistaken, but thatâs the only animal Iâve identified so far.â
âWhat are your thoughts on that?â he asks.
âItâs fascinating. Medical research has utilized animal cells before, like shark cartilage. But I believe what weâre doing here has to do with helping to speed up recovery time. Like soldiers on the battlefield, being able to help them heal from an injury two times faster than normal.
